Hi

I want to control 32 relays. I am thinking about using Measurement computing's USB 1024LS.
It has 24 bit digital i/o and cheaper than USB 1208LS. Has anybody used USB-1024LS with
Psychophysics toolbox? It looks Daq toolbox needs some modification. I want to know how
extensive modification it need to make the 1024LS to work. I would appreciate any
information.

Thanks,

Hiroto

Mario wrote about MCC's 1024LS and the DaqToolbox:

I've just glanced at the relevant header and C source files that the
linux group wrote to talk to MCC devices, and the command codes for
the 1024LS are completely different from those of the 1208FS. I'm
afraid Mario was overly optimistic there.

I think that's also totally unrealistic. I think the code for the
1024LS would be so different from that of the 1208/1408/1608FS that
you'd do just as well to start from scratch...

I could help a little, but I don't have much "free" time at the
moment. I wouldn't be surprised if it took me a week if I were
actually writing and testing this code completely myself, and I've
done this before...

I agree with Mario that it could be done, but I disagree with his
assessment of how quickly it could be done. Maybe Jeff Mandel will
chime in with another estimate as he was the one who flirted with the
idea of modifying code to run a 1208LS. Presumably that device is
more similar to the 1208FS than the 1024LS is, but Jeff still opted to
purchase an FS rather than try to make his LS work with the
DaqToolbox.
