I am a new graduate student at UVA, attempting to run
Psychtoolbox on the Mac OS X
systems in our lab. After downloading and installing Psychtoolbox,
I am unable to
succesfully run any demos (including the "MovieDemo.m" posted under
the tutorials
section of the Psychtoolbox website). When I try to run MovieDemo.m,
 Matlab suddenly
terminates without showing any output. Other programs run but then
freeze before doing
anything.
Although I am new to both Psychoboolbox and Matlab, I have been
able to run other
demo programs/ tutorials under the OSX implementation of Matlab (v
7.0.0, release 14).
Furthermore, I just succesfully installed Psychotoolbox on a Windows
PC in our lab, and
was able to run the "MovieDemo.m" without issue. I noticed a number
of bugs associated
with the recent release of Psychtoolbox for OSX, and was wondering if
anyone has
experienced similiar problems, and or has suggestions on how to
proceede.

Thanks for the assistance,

Michael Schutz

Hello Michael,

Greetings from Northwestern. I have to ask if you are the Michael Schutz I know? if so, let me know how you're doing! (I use this email address for email lists because of the inevitable spam that creeps in.)

In any event, glad to see you using Psychtoolbox. Great stuff.

Best,

Ric Ashley
