# XDC 2022 Open Source graphics conference in Minnesota now, streamed live

XDC 2022, co-hosted with WineConf 2022 and the new FOSS XR conf just started in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

Thanks to the lack of financial support by over 99% of our users and our general lack of funding, I am not able to attend in person, which is a shame, given that there are multiple talks and workshops there which could have been of great importance to future developments relevant to Psychtoolbox, like OpenXR VR/AR applications, HDR improvements, display technologies, the Linux side of things and also to a lesser extend the macOS and Windows side of things.

Anyway, the conference is live streamed on XOrg’s Youtube channel for those interested in the latest in open-source graphics technology - and now also VR/AR/MR/XR technologies.

Most interesting today for me:

“Tasting the forbidden Apple” (Starting 2 pm local time, 21.00 CEST) → Progress update about porting Linux to the Apple Silicon M1/M2 Macs and their proprietary Apple graphics chip.

Followed by “Zink - Staging a global, cross-platform, OpenGL takeover” → Progress update about implementing OpenGL on top of Vulkan.

Followed by other interesting stuff about testing…
