change frame rate of AVI movie

Hi everyone,

I've recorded an AVI movie with a video camera. the recorded frame-
rate was 25 frames per sec.
I'd like to play this movie via PTB.
however, since my monitor refreshing rate is 60Hz, the movie plays
much faster than it was recorded.
any suggestions what can be done to display it in the correct rate?

Hi Hanna,

Read the movie in PTB and then write it onto a different file with a different frame rate as per your requirements! then use the second movie for your experiments!!

Get the Yahoo! toolbar and be alerted to new email wherever you're surfing.

Look at PlayMoviesDemoOSX and friends in PsychDemos/QuicktimeDemos
on how to play movies with controlled audio-visual timing.

Select a monitor refresh rate which is a multiple of your movies rate
for optimal results, e.g., 75 Hz, 100 Hz or 125 Hz in your case.
