Function Reference Down

Hello All,

I have been trying to get access to the online documentation for a few days now but the Function Reference in http://docs.psychtoolbox.org/Psychtoolbox has been unaccessible (it times out).

Anyone know what is going on? Is there another source for detailed documentation.

Thanks,

Chris

No. Afaik the docs are hosted on an old Apple machine in the Brainard lab, using Apples unreliable toy operating system, which makes the whole thing naturally shaky and prone to frequent failure. Also nobody seems to monitor the health of Apples trainwreck, or messages on this forum, and i'm tired of doing other peoples job, so there... I hope it stays dead and r.i.p, it showed often enough in the past how desperately it wants to die.

But don't despair, the website is just a beautified mirror of the docs contained in your Psychtoolbox, and always a somewhat outdated one. A simple "doc Psychtoolbox" in Matlab or "help Psychtoolbox" in Octave or Matlab will give you exactly the same info in a less beautiful fashion. This btw. is something that is mentioned after each single download/update of PTB, and in the Download instructions on our website.

Luckily, Justin Ales apparently has worked on a way that allows moving the online docs to GitHub, where the majority of the other parts of the website are living. If you want to help yourself, help Justin getting the new docs approach working well, by testing and giving feedback:

You can access the archive of the site using the internet archive:

The function reference has historically been hosted on a wiki sever in the Brainard lab. This goes down from time to time. This downtime is longer than most. I'm trying to update the export code to support an alternative hosting method.
