New iMac, new video card, problems using full gamit of CRT

The Vision Science Lab at UChicago (PI Steve Shevell) recently upgraded the iMacs. The new iMacs have a different video card than the older iMacs, and we find that the output of the video card to a CRT is inconsistent, with much lower luminance output than the older iMac.

This doesn't appear to be a problem specific to PsychToolBox, as we've also run color calibration software in XCode with the same result.

Details:
Psychtoolbox version: 3.0.14
OS 10.12.5
Video card: Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536MB

OLD iMac version (that we used for years and never had issues with calibration/displaying color)
OS 10.8.5
Video card: GeForce GT 640M 512MB

In particular, the old iMac still outputs good luminance values for each gun on the CRT (R = 6, G = 18, B = 3.5), but the new iMac reduces the maximum luminance to R = 4.8, G = 12, B = 1.5.

I realize this isn't a PsychToolBox question in particular, but we're stuck. Any thoughts on what we can try?
