OpenGL context creation failed!

Hi,

I set up a Ubuntu/Win7 dual boot and want to run Psychtoolbox on Ubuntu on a dual monitor system with the stimulation running on the 2nd monitor.

First, are there any synchronization problems under in linux with the 2nd monitor?

Second, I managed to install the toolbox, but when I run

white = WhiteIndex(screenNumber)

from the tutorial, I get the following error:

PTB-WARNING: Redundant call to PsychScreenMapRadeonCntlMemory()! Ignored for now. This should not happen!

PTB-ERROR:[glXCreateContext() failed] OpenGL context creation failed!

PTB-ERROR[Low-Level setup of window failed]:The specified display may not support double buffering and/or stereo output. There could be insufficient video memory

I couldn't find a solution for this problem.

I spent days struggling with graphics cards, ubuntu installation, ubuntu graphic card installation, Matlab installation, and Matlab incompatibility issues with the latest linux NVIDIA drivers etc etc, so I don't know if any of those workarounds is causing the problem.

cheers!

You'll need to provide more information. exact graphics hardware, drivers used, ubuntu version and matlab version would be helpful.

Cheers,
Dee
