Here are important installation instructions for the OS X Psychtoolbox
version 0.8, announced earlier today.
1- Remove any path settings into previous versions of the Psychtoolbox.
Set the MATLAB path to include the Psychtoolbox folder and all
subfolders.
2- From the OS X terminal, run the script
Psychtoolbox/PsychContributed/simplepsychtoolboxsetup.sh. Calling
KillUpdateProcess from the MATLAB command line will open a terminal
window and give detailed instructions for how to do that.
The demos were meant to give the instructions in step 2, which they do,
but I overlooked that those instructions would be occluded by the
onscreen windows which the demos open. I'll fix this in future
versions by having KillUpdateProcess not only give instructions, but
also close any opened onscreen windows.
