OSX: the road back to getchar

Dear Allen,
I see that the repair of GetChar for the OSX PTB has fallen off of the most recent roadmap. Do you have any kind of estimate as to how far out that fix will be? We are having trouble getting kbCheck to work with some of our devices (most importantly, our fMRI response box).

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Allen,

We are thinking about switching to the new psychophysics toolbox with os X, but we'll
need GetChar or something functionally equivalent before we can make the move. Is there
a such a command? If not, I "third" the motion of Russ and Michael below.

Best,

Brian

Dear Brian,

For now we provide only KbCheck and PsychHID to read from the keyboard
on OS X.

GetChar is still important. I changed OS X Psychtoolbox Roadmap today;
GetChar is now scheduled for release on August 19.

best,

Allen

ps

- Note that on OS X KbCheck calls PsychHID. For most purposes it is
better to choose KbCheck over PsychHID when reading the keyboard.

-The OS X roadmap appears here:
