Hi PTB Community,
I’m looking for a reliable AMD graphics card that ensures good compatibility with the toolbox. Could anyone share their recommendations or experiences?
Thank you for your help!

The recommendations for officially tested and verified cards from our website are up to date, and haven’t changed since early 2019, due to the lack of funding that would have allowed buying more modern and recent hardware:
http://psychtoolbox.org/requirements.html#short-version
But the - untested by the only PTB developer that systematically and comprehensively tests such things - working assumption, based on the general feedback from users on the forum in recent years, is that all modern AMD gpu’s should work fine, at least on modern Linux. At least I am not aware of any specific troublemaker, but only almost six years old hardware is actually tested by myself.
If the GPU is totally new you can expect some problems with drivers as MESA drivers takes some time to end up in an official Ubuntu release. You can use some PPAs (oibaf and kisak) for more bleeding edge MESA, we did this with an AMD RX 7000 series card someone bought. I use an RX 6800 for PTB development work and it is rock solid (including photodiode testing).
