I've a Viewpixx monitor and need to have a more precise control on luminance and contrast (10 bits resolution instead of normal 8bits). I wonder whether it's possible to generate 10-bits resolution Sine-wave grating with MS-windows PTB and then present with ViewPixx. Since ViewPixx has a 10 bits for each color, so how it would be possible to use this ability. I don't have Bits++ and DataPixx box, the only thing I have is ViewPixx monitor.
I would be thankful if you could possibly help me through.
Kind regards
Masoud
This is running on which version of Windows? What graphics card? You use a single display setup - only the ViewPixx connected to the computer, right? I won't even bother helping to debug a Windows multi-display setup anymore, so make sure the ViewPixx is the only display on your machine.
What is the full output of PTB in Matlab's window? What do you see on the screen?

I run the demo on Win7-64bit (with MATLAB32bit for PTB). The graphic card was: Geforce GTS 450 and only ViewPixx was connected to computer.
I saw some texts telling that I should see the text below in blue, a gradient red bar, a rotating square grating change the color for dark to light, and some texts that should have a color similar to rainbow ....
First when I ran the demo, the text was not blue, the instruction told me that for changing the setting please press 'Space' key repeatedly and for saving the setting press 's'. But when I pressed 'Space' three/four time I faced an error about screen. Other keys did not work at all. Sometimes when I ran demo again, the text was blue but I could not save. Interestingly, for the next run the text was not blue anymore.
Thanks Mario
Yes, There is no black line. Thanks for that.
My DVI is a dual-link.
Unfortunately, I could not find any way to disable dithering in Windows.
BitsPlusImagingPipelineTest also worked properly when I selected 'b'. Also, BitsPlusIdentityClutTest([],1) worked nice (I saw everything: the blue text, ...) and could save the setting easily by pressing 's'. But, when I ran the script again and selected 'y'es o the Datapixx tests, I faced similar errors.
Thank you very much for great help.
