Graphics card

Hi everyone,
I am new to Matlab and have recently downloaded Psychtoolbox-3. Here
are the specs of my set up:
Windows XP
Matlab 6.5 (release 13)
Graphics card ATI FireGL V3100 (128MB).

I get an error stating that "Your graphics hardware does not support
the required OpenGL framebuffer object extension. You may want to
upgrade to a more recent graphics card. You'll need at minmum a NVidia
Geforce FX-5000 or a ATI Radeon 96000 or Intel GMA 950 for this to work."

I am thinking of changing the graphics card to a NVIDIA GeForce
6200LE. Looking at the specs, they seem to both support Open GL 1.5.
So, my question is - is the NVIDIA GeForce 6200LE compatible with
PTB-3 or will I get the same problems that I am experiencing with my
current graphics card?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
Matt.
According to ATI docs, the FireGL V3100 should
support framebuffer objects and at least some
limited shader support. Have you tried updating
to the latest graphics drivers for your card? The
drivers that came with your card may be too old
and don't support that feature yet.

It also depends on what you need for your experiments,
if you need all functionality. Most basic graphics
functions still work on 9 year old graphics cards.

If you want to upgrade to a new card, you should
go gor some recent Geforce 8xxx/9xxx etc. Even
a cheap one will provide state of the art functionality,
even if at a low speed for a really cheap card. The
6200LE would work, but i doubt that it would be
a large improvement in functionality wrt. to the V3100.

best,
-mario
