Input for fMRI experiment

Hello!!

I am hoping that you can give me some advice on how to set up my experiment using the PsychToolBox and Matlab software.  I will be performing an fMRI experiment in which I will be using PTB to record input (ratings of craving from 1 to 10) during the fMRI scans, using two separate 5-button input boxes.  At the same time, I want to run a video player program (on the same computer - Mac OSX) to present the subjects with stimuli with which they will respond to cerain questions.  Is it possible for both the video player and PTB to run at the same time so that I can show the stimuli and record the input simultaneously?  Will this work on Mac OSX?  I would like to downlaod the programs and begin writing the experiments quite soon, and your help would be much appreciated.  Cheers,

Re: [psychtoolbox] Input for fMRI experiment
dear dharma

i think that will work, but i haven't used OS X yet. The Psychtoolbox at present will only run with MATLAB under Classic, but i suppose that Classic must timeshare with the rest of OS X. Matlab and the Psychtoolbox run fine under Classic with the one glaring exception that there is no way to synch to the display. However, your proposed scheme deals with that by using a different program, running native under OS X, to run the display.

please let us know, here in the forum, how it works.
