Issue with Eyelink and SR-Research Core Libraries

Hello!

I am currently setting up an Eyetracked experiment with the Eyelink Portable Duo using the psychtoolbox-3 MATLAB integration on the latest version of Ubuntu. I keep running into this error:

Invalid MEX-file ‘/usr/share/psychtoolbox-3/PsychHardware/EyelinkToolbox/EyelinkBasic/Eyelink.mexa64’: libeyelink_core-1.9.so.58: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I’ve looked online and no one seems to have a working solution to this problem. MATLAB recommended installing the core libraries but the SR-website doesn’t have anything like that on it. What am I missing?

At least for the Eyelink 1000 you need to install the EyeLink Developers Kit, instructions for Linux available on their support forums:
