low cost eyetrackers

Hi everyone,

I know this is a more general question, but I was wondering whether someone on this list has experience with low-cost eye trackers.

Since EyeTribe closed, I guess the two cheapest hardware are the Gazepoint (60Hz and 150 Hz). I have seen this blog post, but I was wondering if somebody did more testing with this equipment.

Is anybody also familiar with other low-cost options (lower than 2000,00 dollars)?

Thank you in advance,

For the Tobii EyeX and 4C, it is possible to buy an upgrade license that allows you to use it for research and makes the device work with the Pro SDK. I don't know what such a license costs, but something to check out maybe (and try to negotiate).

All the best,
Dee

Have a look at https://github.com/oculomatic/oculomatic-release (free) together with a flir/point grey camera and lens you should be be able to stay below 2K$... Most likely the software is a bit basic, but if you have head fixed subjects it might just work okay (and being opensource, improvements are possible and one can even share those back ;) )

Best Regards
