MATLAB on intel mac: problems with 10.4.8?

hi - Since upgrading my MacBook Pro to 10.4.8, I am unable to run MATLAB (either 7.2 or 7.3). Both give me a segmentation fault when running "matlab -nojvm -nodesktop", whereas they ran fine before the upgrade. Has anyone else seen this? I don't see anything about it on the web or the Mathworks support site.

cheers
russ

Known problem, Apple screwed it again with the 10.4.8 update.

Maybe this message, taken from...

...may help:

i am using a macbook pro (version 1,1; 2 GHz, 2 GB). i have the first
beta release installed, renamed libXm.2.dylib to libXm.3.dylib as
suggested by leslie mehrez (the mathworks), matlab runs fine since
then except for a warning "Usage of DATEVEC with empty date strings
is not supported. Results may change in future versions.". i have
upgraded to 10.4.8 this morning - matlab still runs fine except for
the warning. the OpenGL warning, however, has disappeared."

Use at your own risk!
