multiple mice

I have a laptop with a trackpad, but want to use an external mouse
with getmouse. It recognizes 2 mice and exits saying that it can't
handle multiple mice.

On this page I made a simple workaround to have it ignore the fact
that multiple mice exist:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Psychtoolbox:GetMouse_AllowMultipleHack
and it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Is it nessacary to check for multiple mice?

Dear Rob,
Thanks so much for posting this. I was about to give up on using an
external mouse and then I
found your posting.
