OSX: registering responses from FORP

Hello all,
I am using the FORP (fiber optic response pad) produced by Current Designs
to collect responses during fMRI experiments on a G4 tower. I use the USB
output and the "standard setting", in which the FORP appears to the Mac as
a second keyboard, and each FORP button press is registered as a keyboard
button press. I never had any problems with this device using Psychtoolbox
for OS9. Under OS9, I used kbCheck to collect the responses from the FORP
keys and to register scanner TTL pulses (which also appear as a keyboard
input). I have recently begun using the OSX version of Psychtoolbox. Now I
am using PsychHID('KbCheck', device number) to collect responses. In my
code, this works fine for the keyboard and for a USB numeric keypad, but
not for the FORP. I can verify that Psychtoolbox detects the FORP by typing
PsychHID('Devices'). When I press the keys on the FORP, they register as
the correct keystrokes in the Matlab command window or in a text editor
window. However, PsychHID('KbCheck', device number) or, for that matter,
KbCheck, do not register inputs from the response box. Does anyone have any
suggestions to make KbCheck recognize FORP inputs? Thank you very much.

Cheers,
Michael Silver

I would sure like to know the answer to this also. I have to hit the button about 5 times
for KbWait to register my response from a fiber optic response pad. and then don't get all
the responses from KbCheck. I didn't get far enough to check if the scanner pulses
register.

also, once I have the usb cable connected to my mac, the keyboard responses no longer
register.

I am using the beta versioin for osx.
