dear psychtoolbox user
many of you have been writing to me personally asking about the
future of the psychtoolbox support. this was triggered partly by
Allen Ingling's posting on the forum, indicating that he'd like to
work full-time on the psychtoolbox. it's something he's wanted very
much for a long time so i hope it's possible.
here's the scoop.
1. the NYU vision core grant has been renewed for another 5 years and
will provide one day a week of programmer support to the psychtoolbox.
2. that programmer support has been provided by Allen, but, if Allen
were to leave, then a new person would be hired and that person would
provide the support.
3. the psychtoolbox is open source. it's all available for download
from the web site and we welcome improvements.
4. we are very grateful for everyone's contributions to the code,
most especially Mario Kleiner's improvements of the imaging software.
5. releasing OSX Psychtoolbox 1.06 is the TOP priority.
we worked out a nine-day schedule for the release, but Allen is to
become a FATHER tomorrow so i can't make any firm predictions on a
release date.
all our wishes are for a happy birth: allen, karen, and daughter.
thanks for keeping the faith
best
