Hello early-adopters of Snow Leopard 10.6.0 or 10.6.1,
please run the following tests for me and report back (with machine type, display configuration (single-/dual display) and graphics card model) any success or failure (error aborts/malfunctions/crashes/error or warning messages):
StereoDemo(1);
PerceptualVBLSyncTest(0);
Owners of dual-display setups -- this is especially important feedback:
PerceptualVBLSyncTest(1);
PerceptualVBLSyncTest([0, 1]);
Especially important are test results from NVidia Geforce 8000, 9000, GTX-whatever series cards.
Background:
Leopard 10.5.x with modern NVidia cards (Geforce 8000 and later) had very serious bugs which would cause above tests to fail in arbitrary, sometimes catastrophic ways. Apple claims the bugs to be fixed in 10.6.0 and later. My tests on a MacPro machine with NVidia Geforce 8800 dual-display setup, OS/X 10.6.0, confirm the bugs to be fixed. Before i confirm the bugs to be fixed to Apple, i'd like to see a few more data points from different NVidia setups.
Deadline: Monday
My own tests show success and a few requests for testing i made to some people were unsuccessfull. Therefore i will report back whatever results i get by monday. If i don't get responses by monday, i will report the bugs to be fixed and close the bug reports. If the problems should persist for you -- too bad and you'll have my deepest sympathy.
