I'm attempting to run standard video files with PTB3 on a eMac. Here
are the specs:
1GHz G4
768MB RAM
ATI 32MB Video card
OSX 10.4.8
I want to show video clips at 30 fps with some fairly accurate timing.
Using all the video demos as reference, I have tried straight playing
the video, loading the video into textures before playing, different
video compressions (h.264, divx, xvid, sorensen, uncompressed), and
all the resolution/display color combinations the machine allows.
Despite all of this, I cannot get the video to reliably play across
several hundred trials. Are eMacs capable of running video at 30fps
with PTB? Is there a specific way to run videos on older hardware?
