Download failure Psychtoolbox

Dear Support

My name is Roy Roring, I work on a Mac OSX 10.5.4 machine using Matlab
Version 7.0.4.352 (R14) Service Pack 2.

I am unable to install Psychtoolbox. When I run DownloadPsychtoolbox.m, I
get the following message (posted below) that does not change even after
20-30 minutes. It does not appear to be an issue with permissions, the
download never finishes despite my trying all three download methods
available in the command call.

Thank you very much for any assistance!!

Regards,
Roy

Message:

DownloadPsychtoolbox('beta','/Applications')
Requested flavor is: beta
Requested location for the Psychtoolbox folder is inside: /Applications

Will use the svn client which is located in this folder: /usr/bin/
Good. Your privileges suffice for the requested installation into folder
/Applications.

I will now download the latest Psychtoolbox for OSX.
Requested flavor is: beta
Target folder for installation: /Applications
The following CHECKOUT command asks the Subversion client to
download the Psychtoolbox:
/usr/bin/svn checkout
http://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/osxptb/beta/Psychtoolbox/
"/Applications/Psychtoolbox"
Downloading. It's nearly 100 MB, which can take many minutes.
Alas there is no output to this window to indicate progress until the
download is complete.
Please be patient ...

Notably, when I tried method 3, I also got

Command "CHECKOUT" failed with error code 1:
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svnroot/repos/osxptb/beta/Psychtoolbox'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svnroot/repos/osxptb/beta/Psychtoolbox': could not
connect to server (http://svn.berlios.de)

Will retry now by use of alternative https protocol...
The following alternative CHECKOUT command asks the Subversion client to
download the Psychtoolbox:
/usr/bin/svn checkout
https://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/osxptb/beta/Psychtoolbox/
"/Applications/Psychtoolbox"
Re: [psychtoolbox] Download failure Psychtoolbox Roy,
Check out this FAQ on the Wiki:
http://www.psychtoolbox.org/wikka.php?wakka=FaqDownloadFails

The problem may be because the university’s internet traffic is funneled through a proxy. You have to identify the proxy and provide your username and password to svn. The FAQ shows how to do it for Mac OS X.
Cheers,
Patrick

Dear Patrick,

Is there any alternative link I can use for the download?
Or, for the Windows OS, is there also any instruction to repair the failed download?
I desperately need the psychtoolbox for my final project.
Thank you so much. I am so appreciated for any given suggestion.

Highest regards,

Hi there! I've been having the same problems with downloading the
last few days, and I've downloaded it before. Recently it just
doesn't work. The funny thing is that there is no error, there is
simply a stall. Are we sure that this is a firewall issue? I will
contact our IT department if it is.

Thanks,

If you haven't downloaded or updated for quite a while,
try a new DownloadPsychtoolbox with a new downloader
from the Wiki.

Our SVN hoster Berlios has changed some security
settings a couple of months (weeks?) ago, which disables
the old default way of downloading. A new downloader
from the Wiki will handle this.

Dear all,

Wow! I have downloaded it and I am in learning it. But, actually, I was using a 24 kb size of downloadpsychtoolbox file for it, which is (I guess) the old one (http://psychtoolbox.org/download/DownloadPsychtoolbox.zip). I think it's just the problem of "suitable" of my computer or network with the new or the old one.

For Mario and Patrick, and other members, thank you so much for the help. I am so exiting to use the toolbox!

Highest regards,

Sra
