FrameRect

I apologize if this message gets through twice.

Hi

I am running the Screen command FrameRect on a Macbook Pro, Intel
processor, OS 10.4.11, Matlab 7.4. There are two issues I am having:
First off, the corners are not corners, rather the vertical sides
continue past the edge of the rect creating more of a ladder rather
than a rectangle. Second, the frame penwidth does not increase when I
increase the number. I have downloaded the most recent version of
psychtoolbox so it is not an issue of the corners that have been
reported previously.

Any idea of how to fix this problem?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Elissa

Elissa,

i'm confused by 4 different mails. Can you summarize
which machines show the problem and which not?

Which OS/X version, which graphics card and driver?
The output of "PTB-Info: OpenGL renderer is ....." in
Matlab will tell the model, vendor and driver version.

Can't reproduce this bug on OS/X 10.4.11 PowerPC
with old NVidia card, or OS/X 10.5.5 Intel with new
NVidia card, so its probably something very specific
to one card+driver+os+machine combination.

a) Does it make a difference if you use a penSize
of 1 vs. > 1? Differnence between even (2,4,6,...)
and odd penSizes (3,5,7,9,...)?

b) Does setting the penSize with other functions
like Screen('DrawLine') or Screen('DrawLines') etc.
work correctly or does it fail as well?

What you describe is a driver bug, not fixable
by us, best we can do is submit a bug report
to apple if we have exact details of when and
when not this happens, and then sit'n wait
for a few months...

So your best chance is hacks like using
other drawing commands to draw the
framed rect manually.

best,
-mario

I just thought that the developers would like to know that I have the exact same problem, using WinXP on a PC, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 x86/SSE2 :: 2.0.5527 WinXP Release, Matlab R2006b.
