How to read converted edf data files with asc extension with Matlab?

Hello,

I am a beginner in programing, but now I have the difficult for me
task to analyse my eyelink data files. I will try to do this with
matlab, but:

1.How to read asc files from matlab? (They are opened usually with
Wordpad)

2.I need some example programs in matlab, for very different things,
which I have to extract from the data: RT, saccades position &
velocity, rate of saccades and blink, fixation durations and so on.

I'll be grateful for every kind of help!
