Invalid mex file error on Windows

I tried setting up the Psychtoolbox in the last two days but somehow the following error pops up everytime:

Invalid MEX-file ‘D:\Psychtoolbox\Psychtoolbox-3-3.0.19.14\Psychtoolbox\PsychBasic\MatlabWindowsFilesR2007a\Screen.mexw64’.

I tried all the possible instructions on their website but to no avail. I even tried two different computers with different windows (10 and 11).

I tried to troubleshoot it with online comments by other people and I figured out there’s no certain answer/ method.

Thanks,

Vishal

What specifically have you tried and failed at? GStreamer and other dependencies installed in appropriate versions?
What was the full output of the failed SetupPsychtoolbox() run?

Thanka mario,

I was able to install it but not fully. It kept giving me an error for a missing file. is there a way we can talk?

Sorry, your response did not contain the detailed specific answers to my specific questions, so I assume helping you resolve this will take me more than the 5 minutes of time that I was willing to give away for free. Maybe somebody else can help. Otherwise, if you need up to 30 minutes of paid help from me - on this forum in writing - please post your paid authentication token together with the information I asked you.

Best,

Thanks Mario,

It gave me this error while I tried to install it. It seems the installation went well but I could not run any of the scripts, here’s the error:

Invalid MEX-file ‘D:\Psychtoolbox\Psychtoolbox-3-3.0.19.14\Psychtoolbox\PsychBasic\MatlabWindowsFilesR2007a\Screen.mexw64’.

How much is half an hour package btw?

Thanks,

Vishal

200 Euros + applicable sales tax.

Thanks Mario, I am willing to pay that however, I wonder if we will be able to fix that problem in that time. Ie proper insatllation?

It works for pretty much anybody else, so it is almost certainly user error. In that case it should be doable in 30 minutes or less, if you carefully read and answer my questions, so it would be mostly up to you if it works out. Unless you are unlucky and your setup has a serious and unusual problem.

Thanks. Can you zoom or teams?
