As the error message say, Apple Silicon is not supported yet, but working on it, with an ETA soonish. This will cost you money though, as will all future versions of PTB for macOS and Windows. For reference on the why’s and hows:

Using toolbox on macOS for Apple Silicon Macs?

Thanks for the comprehensive update. My intuition (not direct data) based on working in labs for the last 20 years or so is the following. Few labs run on macOS. You can get more bang for your buck elsewhere and far greater ability to upgrade components (which is pretty much impossible now on mac) and ability integrate a wider range of software and hardware.
