I am new to MATLAB and I would appreciate if anyone could share their knowledge. When I run the codes, the screen test display with purple background shows up. The message states that I can learn about removing the screen test by reading into the FAQ, however, I wasn’t able to find anything in there. I do have the following command in the codes:
Screen(‘Preference’, ‘SkipSyncTests’, 1);
I am unsure if this is the correct command to remove the screen test. Also, the screen test doesn’t show up in one computer – this is the computer that the codes were originally created in. Instead, it shows a white screen with black writing about PTB, which is what I would like to see in other computers/monitors. I have to use the same set of codes on multiple computers and it would be nice to not see that purple display each time I run the codes on a new computer. Is there a posting that I am missing that I can refer to?
The infos you needed are in the FAQ, so if you need further help, our time does not have to be thanked for, but paid for. See → help PsychPaidSupportAndServices for info how to buy paid support.
Hi Stefan. If you have the answer you are encouraged to answer. This one is a trivial one, in the “let me google that for you” category, and it is a community forum. I think once I have taken the lead on an answer for non-trivial questions it makes sense that people pay, because that means I consider the issue and answer non-trivial and probably have already spent some time thinking about it.
By and large though, we have mostly given up on the majority of our users doing the right thing anyway. The failure of our 99 Euro christmas/end-of-year/winter-sales discount to motivate any meaningful number of people to contribute tells me all I need to know about how far the carrot will get us with our clientele → Nowhere. Voluntary good behavior apparently doesn’t work with > 99% of our user base, as basically a decade of trying has shown.
Thanks Mario, and I’m really sorry that you don’t get more support from the community. It’s great work, and I totally agree that it should be paid adequately!
I really wish you could find a way to get more support …
